This is about a boy, Ethan Lawson Wate, and his small town.
A girl, Lena Duchannes, and what she really is.

“There were no surprises
in Gatlin Country.
At least, that’s what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn’t have
Been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end.
There was a grave.”

Honestly, this just gave me chills. When I picked up this book and read synopsis, I was a like, “I need to know what happens!”

I had heard good and bad things about this book, so I didn’t know what to expect.

This is about a boy in Gatlin, South Carolina (Gatlin is a fictitious town) one day at school there are rumors of a new girl. She was not what he expected. She was beautiful, and she was Macon Ravenswood’s, the town shut-in’s, niece. Meaning, she was automatically an outcasts.

Without giving too much away, they meet and talk, and then strange things happen. Witchy things happen.

I was pleasantly surprised. There wasn’t much to say for this book. The book was rather boring for a huge chunk of it, but I was still happy with it. Does it encourage me to read the rest of them? Probably not. But I still liked the book. The storyline is what kept me going.
